House of Jivra

Preserving India's culinary heritage through handmade foods crafted with dharma

Our Philosophy

At House of Jivra, we believe that food is more than sustenance – it is a connection to our roots, our culture, and our values. Every product we create honors the ancient wisdom of our ancestors while meeting the needs of modern families who seek purity and authenticity.

We reject the shortcuts of industrial food production. Instead, we embrace the slow, deliberate craft of traditional methods. Our artisans work in small batches, ensuring that every jar, every packet carries the care and attention it deserves.

The Traditional Bilona Method

Our ghee is made using the ancient Bilona technique, a labor-intensive process that has been perfected over thousands of years.
  • Fresh milk is boiled and cooled to set into curd overnight
  • Curd is hand-churned using a wooden bilona (traditional churner)
  • Pure butter (makkhan) is extracted and gently heated on low flame
  • The result: golden, aromatic ghee with its characteristic granular texture

Limited Batch Craftsmanship

We deliberately keep our production small. Each batch is made by hand, allowing our artisans to monitor quality at every step. This approach means we can never compete with mass-produced alternatives on price or volume – and we wouldn't want to.

When you choose House of Jivra, you're choosing quality over quantity, tradition over convenience, and authenticity over compromise. You're supporting a way of making food that respects both the ingredients and the people who craft them.

Our No-Adulteration Promise

We make this solemn promise to every customer:

  • No mixing of different milk types or qualities
  • No artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives
  • No vegetable oils or hydrogenated fats
  • No shortcuts in the traditional process
  • Complete transparency about our ingredients and methods

Quality Assurance

While we honor traditional methods, we also embrace modern quality standards. Every batch is lab-tested for purity and safety. We maintain strict hygiene protocols throughout our production process. Our packaging is food-grade and designed to preserve freshness.

But our real quality assurance comes from something deeper: the pride our artisans take in their work, the relationships we maintain with our suppliers, and the feedback we receive from customers who can taste the difference.

Supporting Rural Communities

House of Jivra is more than a food brand – it's a bridge between urban consumers and rural producers. We source our milk from small dairy farmers who treat their animals with care and respect. We employ local artisans who possess traditional skills that are in danger of being lost.

Through the Jivra Foundation, we invest in rural development projects that create sustainable livelihoods and preserve traditional knowledge. When you buy from us, you're not just purchasing food – you're supporting an entire ecosystem of people and practices.
